Philadelphia is changing fast.

Philadelphia is home to many of the nation’s finest higher education research institutions, and some of its best hospitals and academic medical centers. Its population is growing for the first time in five decades, spurred by entrepreneurship, technological advances, and the fastest growing millennial generation anywhere in the country. Today’s Philadelphia is full of possibility.

Yet, some of the city’s most intractable challenges remain. Philadelphia has the nation’s highest rate of families living in poverty among big cities – over 60,000 children in Philadelphia live in deep poverty. This is where GreenLight comes in. We facilitate a method to help the Philadelphia community identify and address its most pressing needs with the country’s best social innovations.

Our Portfolio

We search from coast to coast to bring promising, ground-breaking answers to some of Philadelphia’s most persistent poverty-related challenges. Organizations in our portfolio represent the best in their fields – in innovation, measurable results and ability to scale.
