About

The Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO) is dedicated to providing immediate, effective, and comprehensive employment services to individuals newly released from incarceration or with recent criminal convictions.

In Charlotte, CEO meets a community-identified need for second chance employment by providing reentry support to individuals returning home from prison to build career capital and achieve financial stability. Their four step process incorporates life skills education, short-term paid transitional employment, full-time job placement and post-placement services. With a boost from CEO, participants are less likely to become reincarcerated and more likely to build a foundation for a stable, productive life for themselves and their families.

In partnership with the City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County and Bojangles, CEO began enrolling participants and providing immediate work opportunities through their transitional work crews in 2020. While currently serving participants in Charlotte-Mecklenburg, CEO aims to expand across North Carolina to increase economic mobility opportunities for citizens who have been justice-involved.
