Katie, a nonprofit professional, community organizer, and civic educator who is passionate about building community partnerships rooted in mutual respect, empowerment, and solidarity, joined GreenLight in May, 2023.
In her most recent prior role, Katie headed development and programming at Raising Sparks, a street nonprofit that worked with unhoused and marginally-housed San Franciscans. She continues to serve as the co-President of the Public Debate Program, a national and international educational outreach initiative centered at Claremont McKenna College with more than one million annual participants.
Katie holds a bachelor’s in international studies, with a concentration in global politics and societies, from the University of San Francisco. She lives in San Francisco, on the unceeded ancestral homeland of the Ramaytush Ohlone, and loves the Bay Area deeply and widely. She is a proud Korean American and the daughter of immigrants.
Community partnership and solidarity are our most powerful tools for creating a kinder, freer, and more dignified world for all life on earth.
