About

A college degree and the opportunities it brings should be affordable to all.

Young people and their families routinely cite the perceived and real costs of college as key barriers to college access and success. uAspire is focused on providing students with tools and information around college affordability, ensuring that students have the financial resources they need to attend and graduate from higher education.

With its comprehensive financial aid advising program, uAspire has helped thousands of students from low-income households in the Bay Area navigate the complex financial aid process, win scholarships and grants, and reduce their student loan debts. By ensuring students have the financial resources they need to attend and graduate from college, uAspire helps  close a critical opportunity gap.

Since joining GreenLight Bay Area’s portfolio in 2013, uAspire has scaled across the state. As of 2023, over 15,000 students in San Francisco, Oakland, Hayward and eight University of California surrounding communities used or are currently using uAspire’s services. By empowering students to make informed decisions about their financial futures, uAspire is helping to build a stronger, more prosperous Bay Area.
