GreenLight Fund Investments Reach 1.6 Million Individuals and Families Across 15 Cities in a Single Year, New Impact Report Finds

71 portfolio organization investments have generated $454 million in additional funding while addressing locally identified needs in communities nationwide

Boston, MA – October 8, 2026 – GreenLight Fund, a national nonprofit operating in 15 major cities, today released its 2025-2026 Impact Report, showing that its portfolio organization investments reached 1.6 million individuals and families across the country over the past year, while generating measurable progress across areas including essential needs, education, career development and financial resiliency.

From July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, GreenLight expanded to Dallas, its 15th site, and grew its national portfolio to 71 investments, bringing proven programs into new communities and helping them scale to address locally identified needs.

“This report demonstrates what is possible when we listen to communities, invest in solutions with a track record of results and provide the support needed to help those programs take root and grow,” said Ali Knight, CEO of GreenLight Fund. “Reaching 1.6 million individuals and families is an important milestone, and what matters most is the measurable change children and families are experiencing in communities across our network. As GreenLight continues to grow, we remain focused on opening more pathways to inclusive prosperity and deepening our impact.”

GreenLight’s $47.8 million investment in its portfolio organizations has helped unlock more than $454 million in additional state, federal and other follow-on funding, nearly ten dollars for every dollar GreenLight Fund has invested.

GreenLight Fund works alongside residents and local leaders to identify needs not being fully addressed in the community, then finds evidence-based nonprofit programs across the country that can meet those needs. GreenLight invests in and helps launch those organizations locally, providing multiyear funding and on-the-ground support to help them take root and deliver measurable results.

This year’s impact report highlights GreenLight Fund’s work organized across four areas that work together to create inclusive prosperity, with examples of impact including:

Addressing Essential Needs

Helping individuals and families meet their basic needs and promoting the conditions necessary to thrive.

  • One year after receiving stabilization services, 100% of households participating in HomeStart’s Renew Collaborative in Cincinnati retained their housing.
  • More than 2.3 million meals were distributed to families across Greater Newark, the Twin Cities and the Bay Area by Food Connect.

Expanding Educational Opportunities

Increasing access to proven programs focused on early literacy, math skills, social and emotional learning and college access to help students succeed in school and beyond.

  • In Baltimore, over 1,400 home visits from ParentChild+ Early Learning Specialists resulted in 100% of parent and caregiver participants improving skills and knowledge to prepare their children for academic success.
  • In the Bay Area, Blueprint Schools reached 1,642 students. Of those students, 89% reported feeling more confident in math, with students demonstrating an average of 1.4 months of growth in math proficiency.

Strengthening Career Development

Connecting individuals with high-growth careers and wraparound services that put participants on the path toward long-term success.

Achieving Financial Resiliency

Equipping individuals with specialized coaching and savings programs that build financial knowledge and skills, reduce debt, expand access to affordable financing and create opportunities to accumulate assets.

  • In Detroit, RxKids distributed $10.7 million to support 4,195 families during pregnancy and their first year postpartum.
  • In Philadelphia, Compass Working Capital participants graduated with escrow savings of $9,861 on average.

“These results and more are possible because local expertise and comprehensive due diligence drive every GreenLight investment,” said GreenLight Fund Co-Founder and Board Chair John Simon. “As we continue growing our national network, adding a new city each year, we remain focused on listening to communities, investing in solutions with demonstrated results and providing on-the-ground support to those organizations for long-term sustainability.”
