Reaching Neighbors: Food Connect

Oct 7, 2026
Greater Newark

Food Connect’s home delivery program helps reach people who cannot safely or easily travel to a food pantry, bringing reliable access to food directly to their homes.

“The biggest complaint we hear is the long lines at our food pantry, but for a lot of people, it’s more than that. They just can’t get out. They’re elderly, they’re disabled, they’re afraid if they

come outside they might fall, or they don’t have transportation. So when we were able to start doing home delivery with Food Connect, it really meant something. Now we have people calling back saying thank you, telling us their shelves and their fridge are full, sending pictures of the dishes they cooked. It’s a blessing, because these are people who really couldn’t get to us any other way.” –
