ParentChild+ Community Voices: Educator and Provider Perspectives

The impact of ParentChild+ is reflected not only through assessment data, but also through the experiences of children, families, caregivers, and educators. 

Preschool teachers see the positive impact of ParentChild+ participants as they progress through early learning settings. Bi-weekly interactive learning experiences during home visits have helped support participants’ growth in the classroom. Bryson’s teachers, Ms. Schodel and Ms. Jessup, have stated: “Throughout his pre-K year, Bryson consistently excelled both academically and socially”. They also described him as a “kind, respectful, and eager learner who came to school ready to participate each day.” 

Home-based child care providers have also shared the impact of the program. One provider reflected: “I noticed a decrease in tantrums from a child in my care. She learned to take turns by asking in Spanish and English. I enjoyed that the materials were bilingual so that I could practice my English with the children. We read the books many times and have been singing the ABC’s in English and Spanish.” Stories like these demonstrate the value of culturally responsive materials, trusted relationships, and individualized coaching in supporting children and caregivers.
