Tim Palmer Co-Founder and Senior Advisor Charlesbank Capital Partners, LLC Tim Palmer co-chairs GreenLight’s American New Cities Fund. He is co-founder and Senior Advisor of Charlesbank Capital Partners, LLC, a private equity firm, and was until 2018 a Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Charlesbank. Prior to co- founding Charlesbank in 1998, he was managing director of Harvard Private Capital Group, the firm’s predecessor from 1990. His career in private equity began with The Field Corporation, a Chicago-based firm, where he was responsible for making private investments in the media and communications industries. However, he began his career in Chicago as a lawyer with Sidley & Austin, in corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. Tim serves on a number of Boards including the UVA Law School Foundation, Affordable Housing Institute, Save the Bay, Sightpath Management, and Thames Valley Communications. He holds a J.D. from the University of Virginia, an MBA from the University of Chicago, and a BA from Purdue University.
