Tanicia Burns, most recently, served as a Research Program Coordinator for Science in Society, a distinguished research center at Northwestern University. In this capacity, she oversaw a Science Club program site at the Boys & Girls Club of Chicago, an afterschool science program tailored to middle school youth (grades 5-8) with a strong emphasis on youth engagement, mentorship, and STEM curricula.

Throughout her tenure as a research program coordinator, Tanicia cultivated and sustained numerous valuable relationships with youth, families, and community partners in the Chicago and Evanston areas. Her unwavering dedication lies in working with BIPOC communities, youth, DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) initiatives, fostering cultural awareness, and advocating for social justice. Tanicia’s enduring vision is to make high-quality healthcare and STEM education accessible to underserved populations.

Tanicia holds a bachelor’s degree in Biopsychology, Cognition & Neuroscience and Spanish from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor). She pursued further studies at Northwestern University, earning a Master of Science in Regulatory Compliance with a Clinical Research Track and a Master of Science in Health Communication. She is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

In her leisure time, Tanicia finds joy in traveling the world, working with youth, savoring delicious gluten-free cuisine, and cherishing moments with her family and friends.
