Sarah E. Walzer Consultant Sarah has worked on early childhood and family support policy and programming issues for over thirty-five years. She was CEO of ParentChild+ for 28 years, building the national organization and extending its reach to 15 states and 5 countries, expanding programming to include innovative home visiting support for home-based child care providers, and strengthening the organization’s work in historically marginalized communities with a particular focus on working with families speaking languages other than English. Prior to ParentChild+, Sarah was Counsel to the Assistant Secretary for Legislation at HHS, working on early childhood and family support policy, and legislative counsel/assistant to Senator Joseph Lieberman, working on early childhood, education, housing, and anti-poverty initiatives. She was responsible for children and family issues for the Clinton/Gore Domestic Policy Transition Team. Sarah has deep expertise in state and local early childhood and family policies and support systems; home visiting as a key delivery system for family and school readiness supports; program development, fiscal planning, implementation, and evaluation; strategic planning; non-profit management; and board development.
