Renard Wilson, affectionately known as Boom, a Detroit native with a mixed professional background including union labor, media production, community organizing, small business ownership, nonprofit and spiritual leadership, and real estate and community development. Boom hails from Eastern Michigan University, having studied drafting/designing engineering, and is serving as Detroit’s Program Manager.

By way of additional background, Boom was raised in Detroit and educated in Detroit Public Schools. He has dedicated his professional and personal life to fostering positive change in his hometown. His broad experience gives him a unique perspective and a wide range of skills to bring to GreenLight Fund as Detroit’s Program Manager. His GreenLight is a passionate dedication to the increased financial & social equity of Detroit residents, families, and neighborhoods. He is committed to leveraging his skills and experience to help the Detroit Team facilitate a well-run selection cycle. Words that describe Boom well are: “strategic”, “patient”, “compassionate”, “creative” and “grounded in integrity”. After 14 years of marriage, Boom is now focused on co-parenting his two sons. His dedication to his family and community remains unwavering.
