Kate Dobin Managing Director Mellen Charitable Foundation Kate is the Managing Director at the Mellen Charitable Foundation, based in Boston, where she leads grantmaking in support of interrupting the intergenerational cycle of poverty across New England. Prior to Mellen, Kate led two philanthropic portfolios at the Barr Foundation focused on education advocacy and educator and school leader pipelines and supports. Prior to Barr, Kate spent 6 years at EY-Parthenon, a strategy consulting firm, where she led case teams on projects in the K-12 public education sector, providing strategy support to large urban school districts, state departments of education, philanthropic institutions, and non-profit organizations. She started her career in investment consulting at Cambridge Associates. Kate has a BA in Economics and Religious Studies from Connecticut College and an MBA from the Yale School of Management.
