John M. Stein

John M. Stein is co-founder and Principal of Five Stones Investment Group. He was previously the co-founder and President of FSI Group LLC, a registered investment advisor with a specialization in the Financial Services sector.

From 2021-2024 he served as board chair of the Jewish Foundation of Cincinnati. He has also held leadership positions on the boards of the Immigrant and Refugee Law Center, Hebrew Union College, and Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park.

Between 1995 and 2020, he was the co-portfolio manager of that firm’s equity hedge funds and its six private equity funds.

Over the past 30 years, Mr. Stein has served on the boards on various publicly traded and private banks and financial service companies. Prior to founding FSI, Mr. Stein served as a Vice President of Bankers Trust Company.

He and his wife Jennifer live in Cincinnati, Ohio and have three adult children.
