San Francisco Bay Area

Ashley Shen joined the GreenLight Fund team in October 2025 as a Coordinator, bringing a background in public health and community organizing. Ashley is passionate about supporting community-driven initiatives, and believes community input is the key to achieving sustainable, inclusive prosperity.
Prior to GreenLight, Ashley worked as a Patient Advocate at WellSpace Health, a federally qualified health center in Sacramento, where she supported underserved patients in navigating Medi-Cal applications and local resource programs. This experience deepened her commitment to public health and the nonprofit space, inspiring her to pursue a Master of Public Health at UCLA. Ashley also served as Festival Director and Chair of the Board for the Davis Cherry Blossom Festival, a grassroots nonprofit where she directed operations for an annual community event celebrating Asian American culture and serving thousands of attendees. In this role, she cultivated partnerships with local organizations and businesses to create an inclusive, community-driven celebration.

Ashley holds a Master of Public Health in Community Health Sciences from UCLA and a B.S. in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from UC Davis. She is committed to building stronger, more equitable communities and amplifying immigrant voices. In her free time, Ashley can be found curled up with a good book, trying a new recipe, or seeking out a new restaurant to try.
