When a local family faced rapidly deteriorating living conditions under their previous landlord, the Newark community mobilized through Housing Connector. Regina from the United Community Corporation utilized the Community Hub to connect the family to a new housing opportunity. In a testament to community partnership, GreenLight Fund SAC member Dr. Austin stepped forward as the new landlord, providing the keys to a secure 2-bedroom home on Shanley Avenue. Newark EMS Corps generously supplied the moving team, providing high touch support of the family. This is a small example of how a shared network can rapidly unite to provide families with the safe, dignified housing they deserve.
