About

Bridging the gap between income and housing access

Housing Connector is a tech-powered nonprofit that expands access to housing by connecting landlords, community organizations, and residents through a streamlined marketplace. By reducing barriers for property owners and providing financial guarantees and support services, Housing Connector unlocks more available units and creates pathways to stable housing for individuals and families who might otherwise struggle to secure a home.

In Miami-Dade County, the need for housing solutions is especially urgent. The region is the most rent-burdened area in the nation, with nearly 60 percent of residents spending more than 30 percent of their income on housing according to the 2025 United Way ALICE report. Since 2020, nearly 90,000 eviction notices have been filed across the Miami area, underscoring the growing gap between incomes and housing access (Eviction Lab).

Housing Connector works alongside local service providers and property partners to bridge this divide, ensuring more homes become available to residents seeking stability. Nationally, the organization has helped house more than 12,000 people by partnering with 3,500 property owners and 350 community-based organizations across cities including Austin, Dallas, Denver, Orlando, Portland, Sacramento, Newark, and Seattle.

Through GreenLight Fund Miami’s investment and local partnerships, Housing Connector plans to house 2,400 people in Miami-Dade County over the next four years, helping more residents secure safe, stable homes while supporting landlords and community organizations working to strengthen the region’s housing ecosystem.
