Breaking the Cycle: Center for Employment Opportunities

Since joining Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO), Yasmeen was inspired to become an advocate for policy change after noticing how certain policies impacted her personal life and others in similar circumstances. She is driven by the desire to create a better future for her son and others like him. After joining CEO’s policy committee, she honed her public speaking skills, leveraging her voice to raise awareness and enact change. Notably, she had the opportunity to share her story at the Re-Imagining Justice Conference in Minneapolis. Yasmeen spoke about her struggles with the SNAP Drug Conviction Ban, leaving attendees deeply moved and emphasizing the urgent need to break down barriers and create brighter futures.
