Amber Black joined GreenLight Boston as Associate Director in 2022. She brings a decade of experience in direct service and nonprofit management and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Child’s Welfare from the University of West Florida.

Amber’s career started as a therapist with children and families in acute residential behavioral health in Florida. It was this experience that ignited her passion for addressing the need for systemic change in our community. In Boston, she was the founding Program Manager of Life Science Cares, promoting cross-sector collaborations between nonprofits and corporations to foster capacity building and program deployment. Amber is a consultant for emerging philanthropic organizations and nonprofits, guiding their establishment of grantmaking practices that are community-centric and trust-based.
