Hermilo was named the founding Executive Director of GreenLight Fund Chicago in June 2023. As a lifelong Chicagoan, Hermilo has dedicated nearly his entire professional life to enhancing the lives of children, youth, and families, providing opportunities that promote lasting positive change and empowering them to reach their full potential.

Hermilo has a rich background in working with communities, particularly communities of color, to create equitable, sustainable, and resilient neighborhoods for nearly three decades. Hermilo is a leader renowned for building strong teams and developing responsive programs tailored to community needs. His extensive cross-functional experience in the nonprofit, government, and education sectors encompasses strategic planning, change management, and effective implementation of transformative and innovative initiatives.

With a remarkable tenure of more than 20 years at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago, Hermilo played a pivotal role as the Vice President of Youth Development. Throughout his career, he demonstrated an unwavering dedication to implementing strategies that fostered positive relationships, enhanced academic skills, created safe spaces, and empowered youth to achieve meaningful success.

Hermilo brings his unique nonprofit and business background, passion, and enthusiasm to the work. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign, earning a BA in History. Hermilo resides in Chicago, with his wife, Veronica, two children, Allegra and Horacio, and two pups, Luna and Beau.
