Tierra Holmes

Program Associate, GreenLight Philadelphia

Tierra joined GreenLight Fund Philadelphia as a Program Associate in September, 2021. She is passionate about uplifting, fortifying, and stabilizing families through outreach and engagement. As an advocate, she believes in taking a holistic approach when helping individuals, communities, and families to ensure they have every opportunity to heal, grow, and prosper. With a background in public health, community engagement, research, health education, performing arts, and creative writing, Tierra offers a unique perspective.

Previously, Tierra worked with the Boston Area Health Education Center (BAHEC) as a Program Coordinator helping youth explore health careers. She also interned with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) Bureau of Family Health and Nutrition (BFAN) helping to amplify the needs of vulnerable populations during their Title V Needs Assessment. Tierra also studied abroad in Gaborone, Botswana where she contributed to the storyline of a comic book series that explored genomics within a cultural context.

She’s a proud graduate of Howard University’s College of Arts and Sciences (COAS) and Boston University’s School of Public Health (BUSPH) where she learned to appreciate the overlapping of art, culture, and health. Outside of work, Tierra can be found watching Netflix, writing poetry, sending audio texts, or overthinking something…anything.
