Elissa joined GreenLight after spending five years at Teach For America, where she coached over 20 executive directors and development teams on fundraising, strategic planning, management, operational excellence and board best practices, with an aggregate revenue target of over $50 million. Prior to Teach For America, Elissa was the Director of External Affairs at Ramapo for Children, where she led a team of four to exceed the annual revenue goal by 18%. She also served as the Director of Development for the Greater New York region of New Leaders for New Schools, increasing new gifts year-over-year by 40%. Earlier in her career, Elissa was an investment banker at Goldman Sachs and, before that, ran the overnight camp she grew up attending as a camper and counselor in the Catskill Mountains of New York.
Elissa is a Certified Professional Coach through the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC), completed the certificate of nonprofit governance training through BoardSource, and received a certificate in Adult Learning through Teach For America. She received her B.A. from Barnard College and her M.B.A. from Cornell University.
Elissa lives in Westchester, New York with her husband, two boys, and beagle.
