Chris joined GreenLight Atlanta as a Program Associate in January 2021 bringing both knowledge and experience in local governance, education and the nonprofit sector. Chris is a native of Houston, Texas. He moved to Atlanta in 2016 to complete a Masters degree in Public Policy at Georgia State University’s Andrew Young School of Public Policy with a concentration in community and economic development. While in school, Chris also worked with organizations that focused on eradicating educational inequities across the country.
Chris has found purpose in work that includes civic engagement, coalition building and community empowerment. While in Houston, Chris volunteered as a young adult chair with the local NAACP chapter. Since then, he has sought out ways to advocate for marginalized communities — including in Atlanta — and is committed to the work of making certain every voice is heard to ensure a more just and equitable community.
Rooted in a belief that the voices who are most impacted by inequities should be the voices that we help amplify most.
