Alena joined GreenLight Fund in December 2019 as the Detroit Associate. Hailing from metro Detroit, Alena earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Entrepreneurship and Business from Albion College, where she served a two-year term as a recent graduate trustee. Following graduation, Alena quickly made her way back to Detroit to join the Quicken Loans Community Fund to focus on educational programming for Detroit Public Schools Community District students. Passionate about economic empowerment and youth development, Alena most recently helped lead Urban Alliance’s expansion to Detroit in 2018, serving high school students in Detroit with professional development and employment opportunities.
